A Warning & An Encouragement

 • Series: Hebrews

Hebrews 10:26-39 | Micah Dalbey All of us have received invitations. Whether a wedding, church function or party, we’ve all been invited - by friends, family members, co-workers - to various events. Even the advertisements we see frequently along the road or on social media are continually saying, “You need this! This will change your life.” But the reality is, we can’t possibly respond to every invitation - nor are we expected to! And the good news about this is that very few of these invitations (if any) carry negative consequences for saying “no”- If we don’t buy the new phone, it doesn’t matter; if we don’t attend the fundraising event, no one will burn down our house (we hope!). But there is one invitation, which, if ignored, comes with severe and lasting consequences. Last week in Hebrews 10, we examined the beautiful invitation from God to “draw near”, “hold fast” to our hope, and consider how to “stir up” one another to love and good deeds. But what happens if we don’t?
